BEHIND THE SCENES
Our journals are born in Northern Italy, close to the city of Milan. The design comes from the city's Tortona area - the fashion and design district. The production site where the journals are assembled is in Borgomanero, close to the renowned Lake Orta.
BACKSTAGE
HOW TO MAKE A JOURNAL
There are five main components to every journal: the paper, the binding, the cardboard, the cover and the bookmark. Our paper is a prestige 90-100g Usomano (black or white). Our binding holds together 32 sheets of paper with a resistant glue. The cardboard and the cover are married into a solid, matte-looking polished black. And eventually the bookmark has been cut to the size of the journals to facilitate its opening.
A JOURNAL'S JOURNEY
ARTISANAL QUALITY
Every journal is assembled by hand in Borgomanero. The virgin sheets of paper are brought there to be printed digitally. The binding ties them together. The cardboard and cover are then attached. Finally, the journal is inspected, packaged and ready to ship worldwide.
INSIDE A JOURNAL
THE CUSTOM DESIGN
The spacing between the lines, the amount of pages devoted to the notes, the very templates at the core of every journal have been tested with world-class artists, writers and founders. The result? A daily companion for your creative ventures.
